About The Ophthalmological Foundation of the
Philippines (OFPHIL)
A non-stock, not-for-profit private organization established in 1989
by a group of civic-spirited citizens of the Philippines, Japan and the USA, who share a
common goal of improving the standard of vision care among the poor in the Philippines.

for total vision care in Asia and accessible to both rich and poor
Our Mission
- Develop modern, world-class eye diagnostic treatment centers that provide state-of-the-art
technology and patient care, in partnership with selected qualified hospitals,
eye clinics and other ophthalmological organizations.
- sProvide technical and training assistance services in clinic design,
administration, management and staff training, and medical equipment procurement.
- Invite Filipino and foreign ophthalmologists who are recognized specialists
in their fields to teach and train the medical staff of these eye centers.
- Support fellowship programs abroad for young qualified Filipino ophthalmologists.
- Raise funds for our different projects from local and international sources.
- Utilize these eye centers to fight preventable blindness particularly among the poor
