Linda Ty-Casper is the author of 11 novels set in periods critical to Philippine history. Her short stories—gathered in 3 collections and in anthologies published in several countries—present a contemporary portrait of the Philippines, and have won prizes from the Philippine P.E.N. and UNESCO.

She is cited in The Best American Short Stories 1977, in Contemporary Authors, Encyclopedia of World Literature, Survey of Long Fiction, World’s Who’s Who of Women, The Writers Directory, Encyclopedia of Post-Colonial Literature in English, Encyclopedia of World Literature, Encyclopedia of American Literature, and others. Her novel, Awating Trespass was in the Top 5 Women’s Fiction Choice, 1986 UK Feminist Book Forthnight.

She has received awards from Pamana/Heritage, the Filipino American Women’s Network, from ALIWW/Ateneo de Manila, the Massachusetts Arts Council; also the Southeast Asia WRITE Award.
Her articles have appeared in The Christian Science Monitor,
Philippine Studies, City Lights, Philippine-American, Philippine Post, Philippine News, Pilipinas, Solidarity, Asiaweek, The Other Side and other journals and magazines.

She is an officer of the Boston Authors, founded in 1900 by Julia Ward Howe, Restoring Sight International, and of Birthright. Her degrees are from the University of the Philippines and Harvard Law. She was a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute of Independent Study Program, at Djerassi, Siliman, at the Rockefeller Creative Writing Center Bellagio, Italy.
