Patient Qualification Criteria
- Presence of cataracts
- Diminished quality of life
- Best corrected visual acuity worse than 20/40
- At or below the Texas poverty line (see https://livingwage.mit.edu/states/48)
- Cataract surgery is expected to improve functional vision.
